The Zachary Taylor stamp art features the bust profile of the twelfth U.S. president, who served from 1849-1850. Taylor signed the Clayton-Bulwer Treaty in 1850, which ensured neither the U.S. nor Great Britain would have exclusive control over any future canal in Central America.
