Evolving the VeVe Experience: Changes at Checkout

VeVe is introducing Cleverbridge as its new payment provider to support regional taxes and enable future discounts and promotions starting February 26, 2026.

VeVe crew, as always, we’re continually building behind the scenes so we can provide the best experience for our collectors.

From the evening of 26 February 2026, PT, we’ll be introducing a new payment provider in the VeVe app. That means you may notice a few changes at checkout the next time you secure a collectible or add a new comic to your collection.

Let’s walk you through what’s changing, and why.

What’s Changing?

When you complete a purchase in the VeVe Store, you may notice some slight changes. The process will still be simple and secure, but depending on where you’re collecting from, you may now see regional taxes applied at checkout.

We know that clarity matters. So any applicable taxes will be clearly displayed before you confirm your purchase. No surprises.

Why We’re Making This Update

This upgrade is about building a more flexible foundation for the future of VeVe.

Our new payment provider allows us to:

  • Support regional tax requirements where applicable
  • Unlock new features down the track, including discounts and promotional offers

That last part is big.

With this new system in place, we’ll be able to introduce added functionality that creates more ways for you to engage with the fandoms you love. Think special offers. Limited-time promotions. New kinds of rewards.

We’re investing in a checkout experience that will allow us to provide better value to the community.

What This Means for Collectors

For most of you, the change will barely be noticeable.

For some regions, local taxes may now be included in your final purchase amount. These are government-imposed taxes that apply based on your location, and we’re required to collect them where relevant.

We’re committed to being upfront and clear about any additional costs, and you’ll always see the total before confirming your purchase.

You may also notice a change to the look and content of the email confirmations you receive when you complete a purchase.

Looking Ahead

VeVe has always been about more than just owning digital collectibles. It’s about building a world-class collecting experience for fans across every fandom.

This update helps us do that.

We’re laying the groundwork for new ways to reward loyalty, introduce promotional campaigns, and make collecting even more seamless in the future.

Thanks for being part of this journey with us. We’re excited for what’s next.

FAQs

Why is VeVe changing its payment provider?

We’re upgrading to improve the checkout experience and build more flexibility into the platform. This new provider allows us to support regional tax requirements and introduce new features in the future, such as discounts and special offers.

Who is the new payment provider?

Our new payment provider is Cleverbridge GmbH.

Cleverbridge will act as the Merchant of Record for applicable fiat transactions on VeVe. This means they will process payments and issue tax invoices for purchases, similar to how Apple and Google operate as the Merchant of Record for in-app purchases.

Will I see changes at checkout?

Yes. The flow will remain simple and secure, but pricing details may now include regional taxes depending on your location. You may also notice a difference in the emails you receive after your purchase has been confirmed.

When is the change happening?

The changeover to our new payment provider, Cleverbridge, will take place during the evening of 26 February 2026, PT.

Why am I being charged tax?

In some regions, digital goods are subject to local taxes. Where required, these taxes must be collected at the time of purchase. If applicable to your region, the tax amount will be shown clearly before you confirm your order.

Will this affect the price of drops?

The listed price of a comic or collectible will remain the same.

However, if your region requires tax to be applied, your final checkout total may be higher to reflect that requirement.

Is my payment information still secure?

Yes. Security and trust are central to everything we build. Our new payment provider meets strict industry standards to ensure your information remains protected.

Will this enable discounts or promotions in the future?

Yes. One of the biggest benefits of this new system is added flexibility. It opens the door for features like discounts, special offers, and other promotional tools that we’re excited to explore.
