TMNT Technodrome Comes to VeVe: Lasers, AR Driving and More
Few villain headquarters make an entrance quite like the Technodrome.
The enormous spherical fortress has been causing trouble for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since the 1987 animated series, serving as the base of operations for Krang, Shredder, and the Foot Clan. Now, the Technodrome is rolling onto VeVe as a fully interactive digital collectible packed with weapons, mechanical movement, sound effects, and AR drivability.
Here’s what makes this version of one of TMNT’s most memorable machines tick.
What is the Technodrome?
For anyone who didn’t grow up watching Shredder and Krang scheme from inside a gigantic rolling metal ball, the Technodrome is essentially their ultimate mobile fortress.
Throughout the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, it acts as a headquarters, weapons platform, laboratory, transport hub, and home base for many of the Turtles’ recurring enemies. Its size and enormous power requirements also became part of the fun. The Technodrome regularly found itself stranded in increasingly inconvenient places, including the Earth’s core, Dimension X, the Arctic, and beneath the ocean.
Even when it wasn’t going anywhere, it gave Krang and Shredder everything they needed to keep making life difficult for the Turtles.
VeVe’s Technodrome takes that same wonderfully overbuilt cartoon machinery and gives collectors control over some of its most recognizable features.
Five Laser Cannons, One Very Big Blast
The Technodrome comes armed with five laser cannons, and yes, you can fire them.
Its front-mounted main cannon delivers the biggest blast of the bunch, firing an oversized laser beam with visual and sound effects.
Two additional cannons sit near the top of the fortress, while another pair are mounted on mechanical tracks around its sides. These side cannons can travel up and down the Technodrome before firing, with the gears and machinery behind their movement animated as they go.
It gives the collectible plenty to play with before you even start moving it.
The Technodrome Is Always Watching
Sitting above the fortress is one of its most recognizable details: that giant mechanical eye.
The eye remains active through the Technodrome’s idle animation, subtly moving as it looks around and blinking periodically. It is a relatively small detail compared with the enormous lasers firing everywhere else, but it gives the whole collectible a surprising amount of personality.
Leave the Technodrome sitting in a display and it still feels like something is happening.
Or, more accurately, like something inside it is probably planning something.
Take the Technodrome for a Drive in AR
A mobile fortress deserves to be mobile.
The Technodrome is drivable in AR, letting collectors take control through VeVe and move the fortress around their own space.
As it travels, the mechanical components beneath it come to life. Its lower gears rotate as the fortress moves, helping sell the weight and machinery behind something this absurdly large rolling around.
The moving treads, mechanical components, AR driving, and sound effects all help bring the Technodrome’s cartoon machinery into the collector’s space.
So whether you’re placing it in the middle of a TMNT display or seeing how ridiculous the Technodrome looks rolling across your living room, there’s plenty here to experiment with.
The Technodrome has always been gloriously excessive.
Krang and Shredder could have settled for a normal hideout. Instead, they operated from a heavily armed spherical fortress capable of moving between worlds, drilling through the ground, and carrying enough technology to support whichever plan they were working on that week.
That combination of menace and cartoon absurdity is a big part of what made it memorable in the first place.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Technodrome digital collectible brings that same personality to VeVe through its animated eye, moving weapons, five laser cannons, mechanical movement, sound effects, and AR drivability.
The Technodrome arrives on VeVe September 12, 2026.
