Tesseract

Created to contain the Space Infinity Stone, the Tesseract is one of the most powerful artifacts in the universe. With the capabilities to open rifts through space, power weapons and show visions of the future, it is unable to be wielded or held by mortal hands. In Marvel Studios’ Avengers, Loki steals the Tesseract and opens a portal to allow the Chitauri fleet to invade New York City. After the portal is deactivated and the Earth is saved, Thor takes the Tesseract and Loki back to Asgard as humanity is not at a level where it deserves the cube's power.
