Reverspectives are three-dimensional paintings that at first appear as flat surfaces showing a perspective view.
When the viewer moves their head, the 3D structure enhances the depth and shifts the perspective far more than usual, creating a powerful, often disorienting sense of movement.
The illusion works by painting the scene in reverse relative to the relief—areas that protrude most are painted with the most distant parts of the scene.
