Podracers themselves came in many different shapes and sizes, to best fit the pilots. As far as construction goes, a typical podracer contains a pilot console and two or more large engines. Podracing was a dangerous and highly gambled-upon event. Because of this, podracing was eventually outlawed by the New Republic.
