kozyndan are husband-and-wife multidisciplinary artists based in the Japanese countryside who work collaboratively to create obsessively detailed works of art. They work in drawing, painting, sculpture and photography. Their works often revolve around nature and our disconnection/need for reconnection with the natural world. Their work has been exhibited worldwide in museums from Los Angeles to Newcastle, UK, Kiev, and galleries in Australia, Japan, Canada, Spain, the UK, NYC and more. Their commercial work includes album covers, dinner ware, and clothing lines, and interactive animation. Gray Hares is the last in the “Seasons of the Rabbit” series. Like the first piece, Uprisings, it’s based closely on a specific ukiyo-e:Hiroshige’s Evening Snow at Kanbara. This is the only image in the series in which kozyndan placed themselves; it’s a bit of a love letter, telling each other they’d like to grow old together. This complete series of digital prints is kozyndan’s introduction to NFTs.
