The year is 2169 - the abandoned French quarter of New Orleans acts as a safe haven for the population of artificial humans known as MODS. In a world of crime and seemingly super-powered police ability, a nefarious darkness grows in the shadows of Modville. Modville is a sci-fi/Southern Gothic crime drama involving AI humans (“MODS”) set in a futuristic New Orleans. Created by Jesse Negron with creative input from Ridley Scott, the comic touches on themes of father-daughter relationships, morality and humanity. "New Orleans, 2169. Home and last refuge for runaway MODS (slang for artificially intelligent humanoids). Here in the flooded French Quarter, they have set up an idyllic, tight-knit community where they can live freely... until mod girls start to go missing, ritualistically murdered by one of their own. With no police to keep them safe, their only hope is a spent shell casing of a human named Hawthorne and his estranged MOD daughter."
