Women Support the War Effort

Originally part of the 1999 “Celebrate the Century” series, the “Women Support the War Effort” stamp celebrates women from the 1940s. While millions of men joined the armed forces in World War II, millions of women took over their jobs and made up more than 1/3 of the workforce.
